Palace Pledges to reduce energy use
Palace Group 49M pledge
Palace Group has taken the 10% pledge to partner with Eskom through the 49M initiative, in reducing energy use. The 49M initiative aims to inspire and rally all South Africans behind a common goal - saving electricity.
Saving power is really about changing our attitudes, by making small changes in our everyday life. This pledge supports the long-standing commitment and active participation of the Group towards raising awareness of energy efficiency, as well as providing solutions for the implementation of such endevours. It was only fitting to join the many companies, mostly high-intensive energy users, in the pledge publicly and thus inform our own employees and our extended stakeholders in reducing our energy use.
Through our Green Forum (http://palacegreenforum.com) we discuss issues related to climate change and new ways and solutions of handling this undesirable effect. We promote and raise awareness on green energy, renewable energy and green buildings. To this end, we have initiated a “SMART LIVING CHALLENGE” that will ensure we incultate within our own workforce, the smart living culture. This challenge is to be featured via the green forum.
