Palace Group Funds a Bakery Enterprise Project in Alexandra

Background
The Palace Group funded Bakery Enterprise in Alexandra started on high note, with extensive two week training for the participants, the parents and guardians of children under the Alexandra Child Care and Support Centre (ACCSC), an NPO based in Alexandra. This training commenced on Monday, 16th May and ended on Monday, 30th May 2011, at the bakery site in Alexandra.
Whilst Palace Group has committed financial and human resources, the direct owner of the bakery business is the Alexandra Child Care and Support Centre (ACCSC). For a start, only nine parents and guardians were trained, but the number is expected to expand as the business grows. The training course outline included training on the operation and management of the bakery including basic business skills as well as theoretical and practical baking techniques.
About the Training
Siyabonga Africa conducted the training session. It covered a wide range of topics including business management skills, gas safety skills, bread making theory and practical as well as the production of confectionary goods. The participants were also trained on the various equipment and accessories they will be using in the bakery.
All participants successfully completed the training and were as such awarded certificates on the last day of training.
At the commencement of the training, Palace Group was there to welcome the participants and encourage them to do well in the training in order to ensure the success of the enterprise. Palace Group recommitted itself to ensure that their involvement in this initiative will bring positive change, community growth and ultimately the achievement of the goals and objectives set out by itself as the funder and the ACCSC as the beneficiaries.
